| As a Christian, I KNOW that God is in control of the world, the future as well as my little life. But it is during the hard times in life, the times we think we can never make it through, that we can become the closest to our Lord. It is that walk of faith...the hardest thing you may ever have to do, but each step really increases your love for your Lord! There is a song from Kutless that came out shortly after the death of my husband and it literally made me cry each time I heard it. BUT... it also gave me strength to believe and keep going. Here are just a few words of that song..."Everybody falls sometimes, you gotta find the strength to rise, from the ashes to make a new beginning. Anyone can feel the ache, you think its more than you can take, but you're stronger than you know and don't you give up now, the sun will soon be shining. You gotta face the clouds to find the silver lining. I've seen dreams that move the mountains, hope that doesn't ever end, even when the sky is falling, I've seen miracles just happen, silent prayers get answered, broken hearts become brand new, thats what faith can do". I am reading a small devotional each day and that too has been a great joy. It is called KEEPING GOD IN THE SMALL STUFF by Bruce and Stan. The words are simple and easy to use so here is for the day of June 20th on the same subject of faith that helped me a lot...'"When you ask God to take away your burdens, you deny yourself the opportunity to grow in your faith. You don't get smarter by studying less, you don't get into better shape by becoming inactive, and you don't grow in your faith by escaping your burdens. We don't believe in God because life is easy and we have everything we need. We come to God because we recognise our desperate situation. And once we align ourselves with God personally through Christ, our faith grows because we are aware we need Christ in us to live each day. You become a Christian by believing that God can save you through Christ. You grow as a Christian by believing that God is allowing the burdens in your life to strengthen you, and that you can overcome them in Christ. "You can be sure that the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with His comfort through Christ." 2 Cor. 1:5 |
